The Art of Craftmanship
Modern Craftmanship
The craftsmen are the true heroes of the Anya Hindmarch story. We make our bags all over the world using traditional techniques and luxurious materials.
Finding the Right Materials
We work closely with our tanneries to source the best materials and many of our leathers are made especially for us. We rigorously test each material to make sure the colour and finish are exactly right.
New Techniques
We work with our craftsmen to develop innovative new techniques each season. Whether it’s the process of embossing and debossing we use for the Featherweight Ebury, the heat-bonded leather squares used for the Giant Pixel Collection or our hand-woven link straps, we’re always using emerging technology to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Wearable Art
We believe your bag should be as beautiful as a precious piece of jewellery and use many of the same techniques to create our designs, such as the hand-woven geometric leatherwork used for the Spring Summer 2017 Collection.
The Crisp Packet
A piece that we like to think of as wearable art, we use seven individual moulds to create each Crisp Packet clutch. We then hand-varnish and line each clutch in our workshop in Florence, as the irregular shape makes this impossible to do using a machine.
Make it Your Own
Combining craftsmanship with personalisation has been at the heart of Anya Hindmarch since day one. Our hand-made tassels, complex geometric bag charms and luxurious stickers are a unique way to make your bag your own
